Juniors Development @ Strathmore
The Strathmore Cricket Club places a high emphasis on creating an environment which encourages and supports children to participate, learn and achieve their potential as cricketers.
Two specific skill development programs have been established to meet the special needs of individual players.
Development Squad
Junior players who have shown potential and who would benefit from one on one coaching, are identified and invited to join the Strathmore Cricket Club Junior Development Squad.
Only juniors eligible to playing Under 14 & Under 16 cricket in the upcoming season, are invited to join the squad. As a part of accepting the invite, parents of invited players are also accepting to share the cost of the development program (50/50 with the club).
- Development program runs from August to September and include 4 sessions
- Each session is one hour duration and include 3 players who will rotate for 20 minutes each
- While one player is being coached the others players are able to practise
- Program is conducted at Shaun Brown’s Indoor Cricket Coaching Centre in Thomastown
- Program runs from 5-6pm Monday to Friday and 9am-10am on Saturdays
2 Day Junior Clinic – September Holidays
In conjunction with Cricket Victoria, the Strathmore Cricket Club runs a 2 day Pre-Season Junior Clinic during the September school holidays. This is an ideal time for our juniors to kick start their season with expert cricket coaching.
The clinic features: · 2 full days of cricket · Great coaching ratio (1-4) · Qualified coaches
· Video analysis · Structure program · Boys & Girls · Ages 7-14
· Visit from first class player · Lunch provided each day · all gear provided
